Cloud9’s HObbit reportedly implicated in CS:GO match-fixing allegations https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/cloud9s-hobbit%e2%81%a0-reportedly-implicated-in-csgo-match-fixing-allegations/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/cloud9s-hobbit%e2%81%a0-reportedly-implicated-in-csgo-match-fixing-allegations/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 19:08:58 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=241 Former professional Kazakhstan CS:GO player Rustam “5TRYK#R” Alimkulov has come forward with allegations and pieces of evidence of match-fixing attempts from 2015. At that time, he played on a sponsorless team called PARTY, which featured Bektiyar “fitch” Bahytov and most notably current Cloud9 player Abay “HObbit” Khasenov, according to a report by Richard Lewis of Dexerto.

The alleged attempts of match-fixing happened at the StarLadder Regional Minor Championship CIS closed qualifier at the end of 2015. 5TRYK#R, HObbit, and the rest of the players allegedly tried to place bets on their own team losing pistol rounds, a practice known as spot-fixing. This type of match-fixing involves fixing an outcome of an aspect of the game that is not related to the game’s final result.

5TRYK#R alleged that PARTY were meant to lose the first pistol round of each of their three group stage matches on purpose and place bets on it. Each player would have won around $5,000 with the bets, according to 5TRYK#R, but some of them were canceled by the bookmaker due to suspicion.

“We did not earn anything from the match because Fitch told other people [outside the team] and so the bets were canceled,” 5TRYK#R told Lewis. “We also had our team and clan tag banned by the bookmaker.”

The 31-year-old has shown conversation logs involving HObbit and himself, a TeamSpeak recording from a talk with the team, screengrabs of the bookmaker’s website, and commentary over the pistol rounds in question. All pieces of evidence are attached to Dexerto’s report. The team fell apart after they did not make it into the CIS Minor and 5TRYK#R said he left the team

NiP reportedly pays CS:GO players stickers money https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/nip-reportedly-pays-csgo-players-stickers-money/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/nip-reportedly-pays-csgo-players-stickers-money/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:55:45 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=238 Ninjas in Pyjamas is allegedly in dispute with some of its current and former CS:GO players over sticker money from the ESL One: Rio Major 2020, according to Dexerto’s Richard Lewis. The tournament was supposed to be organized by ESL, though, it was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The event, however, was canceled after the in-game capsules had already been on sale. As the report states, Tim “nawwk” Jonasson, who was an active player of the NiP roster at the time, “believes they have a contractual claim to the earnings from the sticker sales,” which hasn’t been paid to the players.

And the amount of money that is supposed to be withdrawn to each player is said to be from $200,000 to $300,000. The report explains nawwk is aiming to take legal action against the organization in order to get it to pay the money it owes to the individuals.

Nawwk’s claim is said to be held in section 5.4 of their player contracts, which says each player “shall receive 100% of the individual stickers money, which is allocated to the players.” Additionally, individuals are expected to be given 83.33 percent of the team stickers money, divided between them.

The report also provides a response from Jonas “calc” Gundersen, NiP’s Chief Operating Officier, which was supposedly sent to the players in a group text chat. According to the report, he said: “These were ‘Capsules’ created by the teams, and Ok’d by Valve, in order to survive the pandemic and keep paying salaries without any cuts, despite the complete lack of sponsorships and exposure,” it reads. “Therefore it’s not stickers as it would be normally – because there was no major. This was a desperation move for many teams because elseway something like half would have pulled out of CS:GO altogether.”

Gundersen follows by explaining he knows many teams had a different approach to this topic, with some paying “portions out to the players.” NiP, though, decided not to do that and “keep salaries and business” running as usual, likely due to the money earned through the stickers. The goal of these actions was to support the infrastructure within the organization to “make it an even better place to win majors.”

Last but not least, the report claims three players from that time, Fredrik “REZ” Sterner, Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora, and Hampus “hampus” Poser, don’t wish to talk about the topic to the public.

Ninjas in Pyjamas has been in a similar spotlight in the past. The outlet adds that in 2015, the organization owed $340,000 in sticker sales and prize money, which resulted in Per Lilliefelth, the CEO back then, leaving NiP.

Currently, NiP’s CS:GO division is participating in PGL Antwerp Major, where it qualified for the Champions Stage, which begins on Thursday, May 19.

Sliggy steps down from Team Liquid’s VALORANT roster https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/sliggy-steps-down-from-team-liquids-valorant-roster/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/sliggy-steps-down-from-team-liquids-valorant-roster/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:44:56 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=235 Connor “Sliggy” Blomfield announced that he has stepped down from Team Liquid’s VALORANT roster following Masters Reykjavik 2022, citing a “difference in vision and direction within the team.”

Sliggy has been with the core of Team Liquid since April 2020, when they were known as fish123. Liquid enjoyed sustained success throughout the 2021 VALORANT Champions tour, including a top-four finish at Masters Reykjavik, VALORANT’s first international LAN. They did not qualify for Masters Berlin, however.

Their Reykjavik performance earned them enough circuit points to qualify for EMEA’s Last Chance Qualifier. Liquid emerged as victors at the LCQ, earning themselves a spot at Champions. At Champions, Liquid found themselves in the semifinals, where they were defeated by eventual winners Acend.

Heading into 2022, Liquid was hailed as one of Europe’s best. In Stage One, Liquid were on the cusp of qualifying for Reykjavik, but a fiery G2 squad denied them of their hopes. Due to FunPlus Phoenix’s inability to attend the event, though, Liquid were invited as their replacement.

Liquid were unable to replicate their previous Reykjavik success. With close losses to LOUD and ZETA Division, Liquid bowed out with a top-eight finish.

With Sliggy’s departure, the team will, for the first time since their inception, have to search for a new head coach to fill the vacancy. Liquid return to action on May 14, when they face BIG in their opening match of Stage Two.

Luminosity roll past Sentinels in the VCT Challengers 2 group stage https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/luminosity-roll-past-sentinels-in-the-vct-challengers-2-group-stage/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/luminosity-roll-past-sentinels-in-the-vct-challengers-2-group-stage/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:42:48 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=232 Luminosity Gaming struck first during the opening matches of VCT Challengers, posting a 2-1 win over Sentinels.

LG have been the silent killers of North America after qualifying for the Challengers 2 main event through the first open qualifier, and have now shut down the former back-to-back Masters champions during the opening matches of the group stage.

It was LG that opened the best-of-three series with a win on Bind, which was Sentinels’ map pick. The map came close to hitting overtime, with Luminosity eking out the win13-11 to avoid playing out extra rounds. LG took a narrow 7-5 lead into halftime of the first map, whichwas just enough cushion to keep Sentinels at bay. Bdog showed up big for his team on Chamber, finishing with a 1.47 KD and dropping nearly 30 kills.

LG’s map pick, Breeze, was nearly as close as the first map, with both teams trading rounds back and forth in the second half. Sentinels took a strong 8-4 lead into halftime, but the four-round lead was nothing to LG, who were able to crawl their way back and force overtime off more big plays from bdog. Ultimately, it was TenZ that was the difference-maker on Breeze, securing 40 kills and helping his team to victory in double overtime, as Sentinels tied the series.

The fracture was the deciding map and saw another 8-4 half, this time in favor of LG. That momentum would carry into the second half as LG refused to let Sentinels take one round on attack. Another strong performance from the dog allowed LG to cruise their way to a 13-4 win on the third map, not losing a single round in the second half. Blog finished the match with 82 kills across the three maps, with an impressive 1.67 K/D to lead his team to a 2-1 victory.

LG will return to action next week when they go head to head with FaZe Clan, while Sentinels will look to respond to the tough loss when they take on Evil Geniuses on May 21.

How to fix VALORANT’s process already running’ error https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/how-to-fix-valorants-process-already-running-error/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/how-to-fix-valorants-process-already-running-error/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:35:48 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=229 When installing VALORANT for the first time or returning after an extended break, some players have experienced the “process already running” error. This error appears to be tied to League of Legends and other Riot titles. For whatever reason, the combination of clients seems to lead to this annoying error code. Here’s how to fix it.

The easiest and fastest way to solve the issue is to delete the c:/Riot Games/Riot Client/vcruntime140.dll folder. You can do this by heading into the Riot Games folder found in your (C:) drive.

Screengrab via Windows 10

There should be several options, including Riot Client. Click it and head down to the second to last file, vcruntime140.dll. Right-click it and delete it.

Screengrab via Windows 10

Finally, reinstall VALORANT, load up the client, and you should be good to go.

VALORANT is a free-to-play tactical shooter that launched in 2020. Since releasing, countless new features have been added to the game, including agents, maps, game modes, and more.

Sources: Version1 to look to replace Zander https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/sources-version1-to-look-to-replace-zander/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/sources-version1-to-look-to-replace-zander/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:32:30 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=221 North American organization Version1 is set to move VALORANT player Alexander “Zander” Dituri to the bench. He will be allowed to explore his options, multiple sources told Dot Esports.

There will likely be no other roster changes at Version1 at time of writing, according to sources. Former TSM player and Version1 stand-in Matthew “WARDELL” Yu will likely not be brought back to the roster.

Zander had competed with Version1 since December and saw relatively successful results during his five-month period with the team. He led the team to a top-six placing during the VALORANT Champions Tour Stage One Challengers, which concluded on March 27.

In Stage Two Challengers, however, Version1 failed to qualify for the group stage. Version1 was defeated by free agent team Girl Kissers in the second open qualifier to send them to the lower bracket. Version1 was eliminated from the tournament shortly after following a defeat to Complexity.

Version1 will likely compete in smaller tournaments throughout the rest of the year but they have failed to qualify for VCT Masters Two, which is set to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, Riot Games announced on May 13. Two teams from North America will qualify for the tournament through the Stage Two playoffs, which will begin on June 16.

Since Zander is an in-game leader in the North American region, he will likely find a new home soon.

Multiple teams that did not qualify for the Stage Two group stages will likely make further roster changes, according to sources.

Previews massive ‘Durability Update’ for League’s Patch 12.10, brings system-wide adjustments to healing, shields, and more https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/previews-massive-durability-update-for-leagues-patch-12-10-brings-system-wide-adjustments-to-healing-shields-and-more/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/previews-massive-durability-update-for-leagues-patch-12-10-brings-system-wide-adjustments-to-healing-shields-and-more/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:12:04 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=218 Earlier this month, Riot Games unveiled a huge durability update that would increase base health and armor levels for every champion in League of Legends. Riot Phlox, a designer on the Summoner’s Rift team, has now confirmed the detailed list of changes headed to the game when Patch 12.10 drops, including reasoning behind some of the decisions.

Phlox said 12.10 will be “a pretty disruptive patch” that will be monitored by the developers as the player base adjusts to the power dynamic between champions. Additionally, not all balance changes will be hitting the live servers just yet so they can get a better idea of which champions need buffs or nerfs in the following micro patches.

The best jungle champions in League of Legends https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/the-best-jungle-champions-in-league-of-legends/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/the-best-jungle-champions-in-league-of-legends/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:09:41 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=215 Some champions in League of Legends are just much stronger than others.

For junglers, there are multiple considerations when weighing which champions are better. The most important thing to look at, and the most obvious, is whether the champion would be good at ganking and either securing kills or aiding their teammates in doing so. Behind the scenes, though, is where things get complicated.

Clear speed, invasion pressure, and macro mobility are all factors that need to be evaluated for keeping up with the enemy jungler. The best jungle champions are the ones that can do it all

This list of top-tier champions can change depending on a number of things. Sometimes the meta shifts for no apparent reason other than players’ tastes, but usually there’s some kind of balance update, small or large, that’s behind the sudden change. It can be difficult to keep up on the flavor-of-the-month champs, so let us do it for you.

Here are our top five junglers for League’s Patch 12.9.

Report: Golden Guardians to promote Stixxay to LCS lineup, sign LIDER to Academy team https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/report-golden-guardians-to-promote-stixxay-to-lcs-lineup-sign-lider-to-academy-team/ https://monk-theme.pxsquad.com/demo1/2022/05/18/report-golden-guardians-to-promote-stixxay-to-lcs-lineup-sign-lider-to-academy-team/#respond Wed, 18 May 2022 18:08:44 +0000 https://wp1.chest.gg/?p=212 Golden Guardians will start Stixxay at the AD carry position in the upcoming LCS Summer Split, according to a report from Brieuc Seeger of Upcomer. After spending time with the organization during the Spring Split as a positional coach and Academy-level substitute, Stixxay will reportedly play on stage this summer.

Stixxay played for Golden Guardians at the LCS level last season, helping to bring the League of Legends team to a playoff appearance following last year’s Summer Split. He will replace Lost at the ADC position, who was released from the team earlier this week.

Stixzay played 54 individual games with Golden Guardians last season, posting a record of 15-39 over the course of the full season.

In addition to Stixxay joining Golden Guardians’ starting lineup, the organization will also sign former Team Vitality mid laner LIDER to its Academy roster, according to Upcomer. LIDER has not played a game for Vitality during the 2022 season, although he has remained on the team’s roster. He will reportedly replace Ryoma on Golden Guardians’ Academy team.

LIDER has not played a game on the professional stage since last season’s LEC Summer Split playoffs. He and Vitality were bounced from the last year’s postseason in the first round by Fnatic, who eventually represented Europe at the World Championship.

Golden Guardians will return to play when the 2022 LCS Summer Split begins on June 18
